Data Protection & Privacy
Data protection has been at the core of significant new regulation affecting not only communications agencies, but all businesses that process the personal data of EU citizens.
After the adoption of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), EACA has participated in consultations regarding the interpretation of the rules and facilitated the implementation of the new requirements with its membership.
Today, EACA continues to particularly engage in the discussions surrounding the ePrivacy Regulation, which particularises and complements the data protection regulation further by setting up specific rules concerning data confidentiality in the electronic communications sector.
