The IPA iList
Description
The IPA iList was created to acknowledge and celebrate those actively championing diversity in the advertising industry. To be considered, individuals must enter or be nominated by supplying a short description of their inclusivity initiatives. Shortlisted entrants are interviewed by an expert judging panel who confirm the final iList. The IPA iList has honoured those behind the advertising industries most influential and important DE&I initiatives and gives them the prestigious platform to share best practice, thought leadership and provide tried and tested solutions to help improve the overall diversity and inclusion of the advertising industry and the work it creates.
What is innovative about this initiative?
The iList sends a strong message of solidarity and commitment to improving diversity and inclusion within the advertising industry. The initiative drives inclusivity in all its forms, both at a wider intersectional level, and those tackling specific issues. The iList is made up of a diverse range of people, from all levels and disciplines, who are investing their time and energy into making the advertising industry more inclusive. The initiative provides tangible inspiration and showcases initiatives that can be copied, borrowed, or supported to solve D&I concerns, no matter the size of the agency or the level people are at.
Impact
The iList continues to grow since launch – receiving 172 entries in 2024 (up from 165 in 2022 and 117 in 2020), suggesting an increase in the number of people passionate about championing inclusivity in their agencies each year. The iList raises the profiles of those successful, highlighting their outstanding dedication to improving the diversity and inclusivity of the industry. The IPA supports and shares the remarkable initiatives of the successful applicants, to inspire others to learn from and use them with pride, to help shift the culture within the industry and increase better representation in creative work.
