The European Association of Communications Agencies (EACA) and its European Institute for Commercial Communications Education (edcom) have launched a call for entries for its 16th annual advertising student competition, Ad Venture, in collaboration with Taylors of Harrogate.
Taylors of Harrogate is a classic British tea brand with a contemporary twist. Taylors is an independent family business – founded in 1886 – with a strong set of values, that aspires to make a positive difference in the world. That means, not only do their teas and infusions taste good; they do good, too.
This year, students will have the unique opportunity to produce a creative comms campaign for Taylors of Harrogate’s speciality tea range, focusing on marketing approaches that reflect the brand’s heritage whilst positioning it for today’s tea consumer.

Aligning with this view, edcom highlights how this competition enhances students’ educational journeys: “As part of the Ad Venture Competition, students will experience firsthand the challenges of crafting a marketing campaign. Teaming up with a well-respected brand like Taylors of Harrogate gives them the opportunity to develop their strategic thinking while building connections within the industry”.
The submitted entries will be assessed by a broad base of judges, comprised of academics, advertising professionals and client representatives from across Europe. The winning team will be rewarded with travel, accommodation and tickets to the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in June 2025. The deadline for registering the teams is 15h January 2025, and the deadline for submitting the campaigns is 5th February 2025.
Teams should consist of 4 to 6 students. edcom, in agreement with the universities, will cover travel and accommodation costs for 4 students per team from the 3 finalist teams to attend the live pitch session with the client. The same support will be provided for the winning team attending the Cannes International Festival of Creativity.
