EACA Welcomes Charley Stoney as New CEO

EACA New CEO Announcement

EACA’s President Christian de la Villehuchet, who has led the search for the new CEO together with the EACA Board, warmly welcomes Charley Stoney as the new Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 February 2025. Stoney will succeed Tamara Daltroff, who is moving to a new professional challenge after leading EACA with dedication and vision since her appointment as CEO in 2018.

Charley Stoney, currently CEO of the Institute of Advertising Practitioners in Ireland (IAPI) and Chair of EACA’s National Associations Council, has brought significant value to the European advertising industry, fostering connections and shaping the strategic agenda. She is well-regarded for her impactful leadership at IAPI, where she championed industry innovation and inclusion, and introduced transformative initiatives to uplift the creative industry in Ireland. With over three decades of experience, Charley’s expertise and vision will steer EACA’s goals of sustainability, diversity, talent development, and industry effectiveness across Europe.

“I am very honored to have been appointed by the Board as the new CEO at EACA”, says Charley Stoney. “My time running IAPI, the advertising trade body in Ireland, has been nothing short of remarkable, and I’m deeply grateful for the industry support and collaboration that has defined my time there.  I look forward to channeling that same energy into EACA, driving initiatives that elevate our industry across Europe and ensuring that we remain relevant and beneficial to all our members.  Over the past two years, as Chair of the EACA’s National Associations Council, I have been privileged to witness the incredible potential that lies in uniting our voices across Europe and I am excited to be able to dedicate all my time in realizing that potential”.

The EACA President expressed his support for Charley’s appointment: “I’ve known Charley for over three years and have been impressed since day one by her leadership and ability to embrace all the strategic areas that impact our industry. We are in a fast-changing industry facing pressures from all sides, and Charley’s combination of industry management and association leadership makes her a transformative force at the heart of EACA’s future”.

Reflecting on Tamara Daltroff’s departure, De la Villehuchet notes: “I am so grateful to have worked closely with Tamara over the last 2.5 years. Her passion in making EACA a true driving force has left a lasting impact, from creating the Best of Europe Effie Awards track to empowering diverse talent, building our Young Board and seniorising the EACA team. Tamara has truly transformed the EACA, and as sad as we are seeing her leave, she only deserves the responsibility she will take in her next challenge”.

Tamara Daltroff expressed her pride in the association’s journey, stating: “Taking on the leading role in 2018 was both a privilege and a responsibility I embraced wholeheartedly. Together with the team, the members, and the board, we built a resilient financial foundation, introduced a bold new identity, and welcomed invaluable new members, all while shaping an association that truly mirrors our industry’s vibrant future”. She adds: “with milestones like creating the VoxComm alliance, the Best Practice Awards, and Ad Net Zero Europe Hub, we’ve laid powerful frameworks for growth and collaboration that will empower our industry for years to come. Charley’s leadership has already showcased her dedication, and I look forward to seeing her impact as she steps into the CEO role”.

Tamara Daltroff’s new career journey will undoubtedly reflect her passion for the industry, and the EACA team and community extends its deepest gratitude for her commitment to its growth and success. The association looks forward to building on her legacy and entering an exciting new phase under Charley’s leadership.
