EACA co-signs industry letter: Further solutions for the Redress Proposal required.
EACA alongside the Advertising Information Group (AIG), the Association of Radio and Sales Houses (EGTA), the World Federation of Advertisers (WFA) and the Federation of European Direct and Interactive Marketing (FEDMA), supports the aim of the “New Deal for Consumers” to strengthen the enforcement of EU consumer protection laws.
However, EACA and the aforementioned trade associations have genuine concerns relating to the Commission´s ability to achieve its objective through their proposal for a directive on representative actions for the protection of collective interests of consumers.
EACA encourages decision makers to reflect and identify the most effective solution for the redress proposal. The advertising industry has identified their five key priorities ahead of an agreement in Council, which you can access here.
