EACA publishes position papers on Digital Tax and ‘New Deal for Consumers’ proposals

Following the European Commission’s proposals for new legislation on digital tax and consumer protection last spring, EACA has issued two position papers.

The first highlights concerns of agencies who would be taxed on revenue for providing certain digital services and/or those who would be subject to a corporate tax due to their “significant digital presence”. The second stresses the potential substantial and detrimental impact of the newly proposed collective redress system on advertising self-regulation.
