EACA and 5Rights Launch a Pan-European Creative Competition to Champion Children’s Safety Online

The European Association of Communications Agencies (EACA), in partnership with the international non-profit 5Rights Foundation, is launching #Campaign4Good, a landmark pan-European creative competition calling on young talent in the advertising industry to address one of the most urgent issues of our digital age: protecting children online.
Launching on 23 September 2025, the initiative will raise awareness of advertising best practices for child online safety based on international industry guidelines. The competition will then challenge young creatives across Europe to imagine a future where digital spaces are designed with children in mind. It calls for campaign ideas that raise public awareness on how exploitative design harms children and that inspire collective action to demand systemic change. Thanks to the generosity of the EACA agency members and their media partners including JCDecaux and Bauer Media Outdoor, the winning idea will be developed into a campaign that will go live across Europe in 2026 and presented in Cannes Lions 2026. Showcasing their commitment to responsible advertising, this also offers participants the rare opportunity to see their vision brought to life on a continental stage.
The competition has been shaped in collaboration with EACA’s Young Board, a group of early-career agency professionals from across Europe, ensuring that the campaign reflects the voice, insight and ambition of the very generation it seeks to mobilise.
“Young people across Europe are stepping up to demand better, and as an industry, we have a responsibility to back them with real tools, visibility and action. This competition is extraordinary because it doesn’t just talk about purpose-driven work, it gives young creatives the chance to build it, launch it, and see it cross borders. It’s a one-of-a-kind opportunity for our talent, and we are incredibly lucky to have a partner like 5Rights making it possible”, said Charley Stoney, EACA CEO.
“We are delighted to see the creative communications industry make this commitment to responsible advertising and very excited to work together on a public outreach campaign. Everyone has a role to play if we are to building the digital world children deserve. I am sure the winning campaign will mark a turning point, inspiring parents, young people and citizens across Europe to join us and the EACA young creatives in demanding a kinder, safer and fairer digital world for children”, said Leanda Barrington-Leach, Executive Director at 5Rights.
To mark the occasion, EACA and 5Rights will host a celebratory dinner with Members of the European Parliament in Strasbourg on 7 October 2025, spotlighting the campaign’s relevance at the intersection of creativity, policy and youth-led advocacy.
