Job description: Public Affairs Manager

will be reporting to the CEO

EACA is the voice of Europe’s communications agencies and associations, promoting the economic and social contribution of commercial communications to society. Our members comprise advertising, media, digital, branding and PR agencies as well as their national associations – together they represent more than 2,500 organisations from over 30 European countries that directly employ over 120,000 people.

EACA is seeking to fill the position of Public Affairs Manager

Advocacy & Outreach

  • Lead the public affairs work on behalf of EACA
  • Review and implement an EU advocacy & outreach strategy according to the goals of EACA’s overall strategy
  • Monitor policy issues of relevance to media and creative agencies, including digital and consumer-related policies
  • Define and draft position papers in close collaboration with EACA membership and present and defend positions vis-à-vis policy-makers and other stakeholders
  • Maintain and expand EACA’s network of contacts amongst policy-makers and interest representatives
  • Communicate regularly and on an ad hoc basis about policy developments to members

Industry initiatives

  • Support the work in other Councils as appropriate, including our task forces.
  • Coordinate EACA’s participation in industry and self-regulatory initiatives and fora
  • Identify potential areas and topics for industry thought leadership pieces or initiatives and implement activities
  • Manage EACA’s external representation in and contributions to meetings, events and industry coalitions

We are looking for the following competences

  • Ability to translate complex political and technical issues into easily understandable and actionable language
  • Service-oriented approach towards members from multiple countries
  • High attention to detail and quality
  • Be able to take and drive initiatives
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English is a must, any additional EU language is a plus
  • Excellent command of standard Microsoft Office tools
  • Experience with social media and content management tools is a plus
  • Having worked in the advertising industry ecosystem and/or EU institution is a plus
  • Graduated preferably in European affairs, law, politics or similar
  • Reliable team player, ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
